Hello and welcome to Word Press’d, Blog2Life’s first free Wordpress theme release!

Blog2Life is excited to announce the official release of their first fully functional Wordpress theme, Word Press’d, a theme that allows you to turn Wordpress Admin 2.5 inside out and make your main site look close to that found on WP admin 2.5.

Of course we can’t make everything look exactly the same as Wordpress Admin 2.5 covers lots of complex features that the outside just aren’t needed so the theme covers WP Admin 2.5 as close as possible while giving a very quick loading time and a nice spacious and slick looking theme.

So now you’ve got a grasp of the theme and how it works lets take a quick look at what wonderful features it has to offer..

Features

Styled Headings allow you to define different areas of your articles with ease and help raise the visual aptitude of your articles. If your post is easy to read then more people will read it. To use these heading just place <h3></h3> around the desired text.

Eye Catching Latest Post box can be found on the index all paged index pages meaning your latest post won’t be missed!

Full image styling, as you can see from the two images (above and right) on this post, linked images have a nice hover effect added for extra zing.. and for that extra perfection images floated left using the Wordpress’s standard “alignleft” do not contain margin’s on the left to make them fit i with the article that little bit better and vice versa for right floated images and elements.

Quick Loading Light Template - my aim was to keep all images to an absolute minimum and to keep the theme quick loading and ready to read the second the text has loaded (because as long as visitors can read the content they will let the rest load around them). This theme has 16 images (mainly due to hovering effects) which are heavily optimised for super fast loading. The total image load is just 77kb! Everything else it defined via CSS. The template was also coded to force all hover images to load with the rest of the site meaning you never have to wait for a hover image to load.

Highly Attractive Simple Spacious Blog Layout allows for optimised advertising easy navigation and draws the reader to the area’s of most importance. Clear headings, simple navigation and a light uncluttered feel make the theme visually attractive easy to use and easy to read.

Highly Visual Feed Link allows for visitors looking to add your website to their feed read easy to find and the image links directly to your feed for easy use.

Styled Blockquotes allow you to separate to section of text from the main paragraph.

Display pullquotes within posts and keep your readers attention..

Styled Pullquotes allow you to highlight interesting snippets of an article and to help keep the readers interest on a post and highlight key points you are trying to get across. These can be used by creating a div around a section of text with the class “pollquote_left” or “pollquote_right” … eg <div class=”pollquote_left”>Text Here<div>.

Attractive Links that fit in with the wordpress theme perfectly and closely resemble that found on Wordpress Admin.

Easy Post And Page Editing links allow you to quickly get to the post/page editor to fix a mistake you may have seen or to update a post. This button can be found under the post title on the right of the post meta information ( See image, right ).

Styled Comments, Gravatar Enabled - The comments allow a gravatar image 32 x 32 to be displayed with each post allowing your commentators a more personal feel on their visit to you website.

Version Compatability

Word Press’d is fully compatible on Wordpress 2.5+

it may work on previous versions with a little editing of the gravatar code and a few other commands. (If you changed the theme to work on previous versions please drop me and email or comment on what you’ve done and I’ll make those changes so other users on that version can use this theme).
